Reason why we love it, design details:
Rounded inside edges on the carcass and the rounded center divider, framing the drawers.
Soft shape of the metal caps on the handles, contrasted with the industrial feeling of the metal.
Soft naturalness of the leather, contrasting with the industrial feeling metal.
Horizontal carving detail, along the top three drawers.
Top three drawer set on top of the bottom six, slightly offset from the edges.
Warmth and shape of the vertical brass pulls on the top drawers.
The balance between the top four pulls and the six handles below them.
The softness of the wear on the bottom stretcher.
The rounding on the legs, echoing the rounding on the sides of the carcass, but at a thicker proportion.
The legs which set the piece off the ground enough to feel like legs, but paired with the stretcher slightly diminutizes them, flirting with the realm of “feet”
The swirling and flecked etchings of the beech are nicely smoothed out with a darker stain, but allows for the flow of the veneer to come through on the drawer fronts.
Drawers: Wooden runners. Dovetail drawers. Interiors as detailed in photos, consistent with age. Please see pictures for details.
